reading poems aloud

reading poems aloud

raindrops on the windows

I remember how

Helen Keller

learned “water”

This poem was also published in SMILE (Summer, 2010) in a slightly different form.

I like the poem in four lines too–always appreciate feedback from editors and readers.

  1. I watched the original movie “The Miracle Worker” this week with the grandkids – we are working on a short study of Helen Keller’s life, so I was thrilled to see your post and share it with the children. I cry every time I watch the scene when Helen finally understands as she fills the pitcher at the water pump.
Your blog is so uplifting – thank you!
