Another poem I wrote, long ago, with the wind…
“What A Road We Travel” first appeared on-line, here on this blog, on December 22, 2009. It is a favorite of readers and of mine too. In terms of print journals, it was published first in SILVER WINGS in 1995.
Please see the 12/22/09 post for all credits.
I’m taking some time to review the blog. This is a great learning experience. Thank you!
WHAT A ROAD WE TRAVEL
What a road we travel
To figure out the
Simplest things and
Return to where we
Knew we belonged
All along
To build friendships
With those whose arms
Are true, all-accepting
And strong
To raise our arms to Heaven
Dig our toes in sand, and
Throw back our heads to
The wind
What a road, what a road
We travel to figure out
The simplest things and
Return to where we
Knew we belonged
All along.

Hi Margaret,
Thank you for your encouragement–for this comment and for reprinting this poem in The Writers’ Bistro in 2007. I enjoy viewing your paintings and reading your poems too!
