I wish I could see owls more often! They’re so elusive…{sigh}. I’m seeing and hearing more birds too. I love the sound…as if to say all’s right with the world. 🙂
There are owls all around here…but the past couple of years I haven’t been able to hear anything but traffic sounds. I used to hear all the cicadas and frogs singing at night…but now only traffic sounds. I haven’t seen any robins yet, but I heard a very persistant one outside my studio all day… I just heard that during this mild winter they probably stayed here all winter…at least some of the males. And the male robins that stay all winter have the prime nesting sites all staked out for the following year. It’s our state bird but some people want to make something else our state bird since the robin is state bird to so many other states.
Hi Ellen. That owl is very alert! We have been out along the river the last two weekends, but no owls yet! We did see three Bald Eagles. Nice post! Jane
My husband loves owls – there is an injured one living at our local nature center – we could stand there looking at him for hours. Outside, the robins around here are very plump lately! Love your simple poem…
I am loving all of the birds too…beautiful poem.

Nice! We saw our first robins for the year a couple of days ago!

Ellen, I love this.
(a coincidence: we heard an owl the other night, for the first time since moving here)

I didn’t realize I wrote a poem, but now I see from your comments.
Blessings to all, Ellen
PS Barbara, hope the owl makes a full recovery and flies again!
