  1. Such memories! When I was growing up in Iowa, it was a ritual. We’d drive by the rolls of snow fence by the side of the road, and my dad would predict the severity of the winter by the number of rolls that had been laid out. 😉

    1. Dear Creative garden, Thank you so much. My father’s parents came from Sweden to America decades ago. We called them Poppa Ernie and Nanna. They lived in Milwaukee, Wisconsin for a long time. My first name is for Nanna–my parents gave me the American spelling for Elin.

I’m not able to accept awards with requirements, but am grateful for your kindness!

      Blessings, Ellen

      1. Thank you so much and it was very nice to hear about your history 🙂 It’s a nice and beautiful blog, but I understand if you don’t want the award, not everyone does. Wishing you a lovely week!
        Blessings,
        Sofia

  2. I visited your hakiu blog but didn’t see a place to leave comments. I enjoyed your haiku. During a blizzard here in 1996 we had huge snow fences from all the shoveled snow. One line was the length of the driveway (about two cars long) and five feet high.
    Cheers.
