blue ~ today and from the archives

blue-bouquet

Today the sun shines and the sky is a beautiful blue.

I decided to type “blue” and see what the search feature on this blog brings to view.

One great thing about reading blogs from many places is that I don’t always try to stay with the sequence of seasons as experienced here.   I am grateful for all I learn by visiting many sites.

Here is some of what I found in my Archives:

Lora Zill’s website, with a blog, is called the blue collar artist.  http://thebluecollarartist.com

As many of you know, Lora edits Time Of Singing.  Her blog is always interesting.

And this poem from January 2013, which I had forgotten:

clear blue skies
rest my eyes
icicles melting
and willows already
look gold in the sun

still I cherish
this winter time
and will long for it
some summer days
when the gardens
are overrun

A favorite haiku:

bluebirds
truly so blue
trustworthy friends

And tanka:

more colors of blue
in Lake Michigan today
than I can name
the wonder of always learning
dreaming new dreams

The “blue bouquet” is from antiqueclipart.com.

  1. Beautiful expression of a Wisconsin winter day! Our daughter, Laura, who lives in Bellingham, WA loves to come here in January—even when we lived up north where a typical January day was -20 degrees (that’s MINUS!) because of the blue sky. Where Laura lives it rains all winter.
