Yes, I remember making red and green paper chains when I was a kid, Annie

Thanks, Annie. I loved making those paper chains, and as a teacher too!

I would add white to the red and green and I still think those are the colors of December. Love this, it’s perfect for this time of year. I also love your poinsettia header photo. 🙂

Dear Elizabeth, Thank you. I love all the red and green decorations in the small towns now, including Oostburg.

Hi Margie, Thank you. Karl takes the photos. This is a poinsettia from another year. I thought I’d wait to decorate until closer to Christmas this year.
I let the garden go pretty wild this year, left the goldenrod and hosta to catch the snow.

The hostas and the goldenrods with snow must be a pretty picture. My garden has been let to run wild this year. It is very interesting to see how much the birds and insects love it.

Dear Gallivanta, Thank you. The hummingbirds arrive with the hosta flowers here. I used to feed them years ago, but then a neighbor said to stop in the fall, and let them go with their own migration. I love seeing the monarchs stop by when they are migrating. As you say, very interesting . . .

I love it, Ellen. My poinsettias sit on the table in front of the big window, and it’s snowing outside…and you captured the magic of it with your words.
