sometimes by sight

Yesterday, Karl and I enjoyed a nice Sunday dinner at Sheboygan’s Family Restaurant.  During the week, our meals at home are simple.  This is the time of year when away from Lake Michigan, the weather is warmer, and a little more Spring is blooming.  I saw some daffodils.  I love being able to see the progression, and the flowers a second time here later on.

It is still dark this morning and I hear the rain.

There are beautiful old orchards in our area.  I also love the shapes of the trees and the blossoms are amazing.  I have to pay attention, so I don’t miss them.

This brings to mind a haiku I wrote, that was published last year in Time of Singing (edited by Lora Homan Zill); and selected this year for my revised Haiku Registry page at The Haiku Foundation (edited by Billie Wilson).  I am always grateful when my best poems can be reprinted.

My haiku was also inspired by this Bible verse: For we walk by faith, not by sight.

2 Corinthians 5: 7 (KJV)

Sometimes a verse and image go to my soul, somehow passing my mind.
