More violets from my recent yard photos.  At first this little area was a place to sit, and we put wood chips over the soil.  Then the flowers appeared and we let this small garden be natural.  I like reading in the house, with the windows open; and I became more careful about the sun as I grew older.

One yellow tulip by the side of the house is staying a long time, sheltered.

Every year is different.  A perennial that does not have its best year one year, returns to try again.
