I do know the Great Lakes but as I live in Germany it is always fascinating to me that you have such huge lakes ๐ we only have our little rivers and ponds…
We even call our Baltic Sea the “East Lake” ๐
Thanks ๐
You are welcome. I have much to learn about the Great Lakes, though I have always lived in the Midwest USA. Sometimes comments prompt me to do more research. I have not been to your country, though my mother’s family was from Germany a long time ago. My father’s parents came here from Sweden. Thank you.
It’s such a beautiful landscape ๐
It’s wonderful to see how we somehow have connections all over the world. Do you know from which part of Germany they came?
Sweden’s also such a beautiful country๐
I don’t know the answer to your question, though I remember my mother created a family tree. Her name was Enola Marie Brandt, and then her last name became Borgh, when she married my father. I hope to go through more of her papers, and will let you know if I learn more. I helped with my mother’s care for many years, and her passing was in 2004.
You still have leaves, we have wet snow.

Dear Verena, Thank you. Lake Michigan is one of the Great Lakes – often thought of as “inland seas.” Here’s the link to the Wikipedia article.

Thank you for Festival of Leaves!
