sunrise
hosta flowers
begin to end
yet knowing
their leaves
will turn gold
raindrops
on hosta plants
so beautiful
with and without
flowers
their leaves
in the sun

hosta
stems in the snow
in early morning light
not bereft of summer beauty
they shine
