September Poems

new picture
on my study wall
calendar for September

2020

we wait and watch
the train go by
in our small town
memories of my
Swedish grandparents

2019

A few petunias
snapdragons, gold and white mums
the robins are gone.

Holding in my heart
as days become cold and dark
robins will return.

PEGASUS 1994, and reprinted here 2018.

September leaves
in Sunday sun
prayers of love
and peace
for those in need

2015

bright sunny day
and steadily they go by . . .
monarchs flying south

As Karl said, “Their epic journey.”

2014

to the store
on old beloved roads
light and wind
through fields of corn
birds fly together

2013

pumpkins in the fields
and for sale
Autumn roads
