arrive in the mail
there is news
of writers I have
read for years

a poem, an essay,
a book review
sometimes an obituary
and a new generation
of writers also grows

perhaps visual art
as well as the words
photos, paintings,
cover art, credits

I read as I can
some of the print
seems small now
and I wait for the sun
and always am grateful
