We enjoyed asparagus soup here in Spain tonight. In Europe (especially Germany) WHITE asparagus is a big deal in the spring. They have asparagus festivals and serve white asparagus in many restaurants. Growing white grass is more labor intensive so the selling price is $8 – $10 per pound. We hope to find an Asparagus Festival in Germany next month.
