Spring to Summer

So much green, seems to be a good year for the spruce tree near the ash tree stump and hosta plants, and the seawall by Lake Michigan.

It is interesting to look at the overall designs for music CDs and print books. So many ways to create. The editors and publishers support and help the writers, and all are artists. I read a few more credits, consider the sequence of songs and/or poems, and the works as a whole. How was this achieved? Can take some time to begin to learn a new work by a favorite artist. And always learning, always grateful.

Music Note

HELEN JANE LONG Live at St James’s London is a beautiful concert (BLE Records, United Kingdom). The music was composed and arranged by Helen Jane Long, and performed by Helen Jane Long and The London Players in 2015. I had not listened for a time, so the music is both familiar and new.

early morning
when I wrote a post
and late afternoon
when I read poetry
and listened to music

by the same window

I look for the small gifts every day. This morning, I thought an idea for a summer 2022 series might be to simply note a few of these blessings.

Grateful

for the June garden now
hosta and lily plants grow
their flowers are summer here

and also for the snowdrops
that bloomed in April
small beginnings of spring

amazing to watch
a garden grow and change
