fog, green leaves
and beach grasses
a blue vase
with red carnations
by the window
trimming the stems
of carnations
and giving them
fresh water
October sun
Saturday morning
birds that stay
visit the birch tree
time for lunch
cardinals by a pumpkin
in the garden
reading
and watching leaves
turn yellow
I hear voices
but cannot understand
the words
goldenrod
blooms
where the daffodils
were
mid-August
blueberries on sale
from Canada now
goldenrod sunrise
hosta and orange lilies
praise for this day
