OLD POEM

writing and reading
I don’t see the dust

then seeing
I remember

and know He does not forget

and understands
with Love

Psalm 103: 14 (KJV)

For he knoweth our frame; he remembereth we are dust.

Veterans Day

Last year I wrote (and shared poems):

My father was a veteran and history teacher. This year, I am growing a new interest in history. There are so many ways to learn. Prayers for peace . . .

I have continued to learn more about history. There are so many stories to honor and respect. My parents had “big picture faith.”

Autumn Memories

poems written
in a notebook
a post and perhaps
published again
years later

autumn garden
with the light and rest
some work complete
and always more to do
a new season begins

autumn memories
my mother often quoted
from literature she knew well
the Psalms, Shakespeare, novels
and even later when others
may not have understood
I knew what she was saying

always poems

there are poems
in the clouds and
sunrise

and light seen
on the garage
from the kitchen

and one yellow leaf
on the birch tree

there are always poems

2022 Review – I am memorizing the sequence of poems as I create these posts. Perhaps for a chapbook in the next year or two. How do poems from over the years work together? I also hope to remember the journals and editors. And a cover art photo by Karl . . .
