Encouragement

how quickly
another generation
grows
seems I only
looked away
for a moment

how good their work
how beautiful their art

These two poems are from my archives.

only now beginning
to find my place and poems
late-blooming rose
from the bush
planted long before
we came here

And what beautiful colors this time of year.

Wisconsin Photos

Country roads, wildflowers, and corn fields – we reflect upon places we visit in our area. And always good to enjoy our gardens.

not always sure and yet I know

not always sure
when one flower
leaves the stage
and another begins
I look up from a page
or from the kitchen window
and purple phlox are gone
daylilies and hosta soon

not always sure
and yet I know
in winter
how gardens
will grow in time
from frozen earth
to snowdrops
lilies and goldenrod
