There is the feeling of some success in an area where we have some experience. Though usually we discover there is so much more to learn. So we stay humble, interested, growing.
I said to Karl that with the variety of arts and crafts shows I am watching, that information I am absorbing now may bear fruit later, even years later.
Today though I began a journal where I am drawing pictures that could become blog posts, quilts, paintings. A collage. Thought I’d begin with materials already in the house.
Mornings have one kind of energy, and afternoons another, for me. Many ways to use the time well.
When I was young, I took a sewing class. I painted, did needlework, and knit scarves. Good to learn again, and again.

lovingkindness
Yesterday, as I was reading The Psalms, I especially noted the word lovingkindness. This morning I looked up a few examples of verses.
How excellent is thy lovingkindness, O God!
therefore the children of men put their trust
under the shadow of thy wings.
Psalm 36: 7 (KJV)
Withhold not thou thy tender mercies from me, O Lord:
let thy lovingkindness and thy truth continually preserve me.
Psalm 40: 11 (KJV)
Yet the Lord will command
his lovingkindness in the daytime,
and in the night his song shall be with me,
and my prayer unto the God of my life.
Psalm 42: 8 (KJV)

I wrote this poem in May, 2014. I was at Target in Kohler, Wisconsin. This year, I wrote a shorter version of the poem. I like both versions.

There is a large category of Bird Images at Reusable Art – Breathing New Life Into Old Art. Their category of Flower Images is also significant. Here are some pictures.
