Winter drive

Yesterday, we went to Schwarz Fish Company in Sheboygan, Wisconsin – the Wholesale Location this time. Then a drive to see the decorations and lights in the area. Karl observed that already the days are a little longer. Beautiful to watch the natural light change. All beautiful, whether someone created a grand display of lights, or a simple wreath.

This is the geranium we bought from Windmill Gardens in Cedar Grove; small red geranium is our post from May 13, 2021. I looked at their Facebook page and they are “Closed for the Season.” We enjoy the small businesses in our area, along with the large stores. Grateful for all.

I have been watching PBS Food Shows. This week I watched Lidia Celebrates America: The Return of the Artisans. They spoke of the time and dedication it takes to learn, and the five senses were mentioned – as we also think about when creating poems. There is a lot of work that takes place before an art feels more intuitive. I like seeing so many artisans and art forms honored.

We also have enjoyed a few meals at Casa Imelda, a new restaurant in Cedar Grove, Wisconsin. Wonderful food and service.

We have so much in common, and so much to learn.

Many memories – and everyday life. Christmas today in a simple way.

Blessings,

Ellen Grace Olinger

I am learning more about the WordPress Foundation – “Supporting the WordPress community since 2010.” Matt Mullenweg is the founder and director.

Karl helped me begin Poems From Oostburg, Wisconsin in December 2009. This way of being creative works well for me. I am grateful, and trust that our work is cared for well here.

I was happy to receive A Moment’s Longing, Haiku Society of America Members’ Anthology 2019. Tanya McDonald served as our Editor this year. The book is beautiful. Please visit the Haiku Society of America for more information.
