Little Christmas Tree

This is a favorite photo by Karl from 2011.  I bought the little tree at Piggly Wiggly in Cedar Grove that year.  It is a Norfolk Island Pine from Costa Farms in Florida.

Summer 2018

I asked Karl to take new photos for the blog this summer, as I focus more on poetry again.  These are a few of my favorites.

Carnations

These beautiful carnations are from Piggly Wiggly in Cedar Grove, Wisconsin.  This is one of my favorite stores, along with Mentink’s Piggly Wiggly in Oostburg, Wisconsin.

I enjoy cooking simple meals with fresh vegetables, and the small country roads.  So grateful for each day.

This week Karl and I went to the Good As New Resale Shop in Cedar Grove, Wisconsin.  I bought a small devotional book.  I enjoy discovering these treasures at thrift stores.  There is so much creativity with book design, along with gentle inspiration.  I am always making new arrangements with books.

Last winter, Karl and I went to thrift stores in our area.  I am happy to see used books for sale in many places.  So I have a nice collection and am ready for fall and winter!  We have also donated books.

Our chapbook, Quiet Christmas Poetry, is a large print book.

We also continue to enjoy the family restaurants and businesses in our area.  On Friday, we went to Judi’s Place in Oostburg, and also to Mentink’s Piggly Wiggly.  Recently, we also enjoyed a meal at Mary’s Country Grove in Cedar Grove.
