Books

This week I am rereading a poetry collection that we published with Time Of Singing in 2007: Welcoming Hope, Poems for those in need. The book may be ordered from the Time Of Singing books page.

The cover art is by Charles A. Waugaman (1932 – 2010), who also illustrated the book. Lora Homan Zill and I were editors. The TOS books page lists the featured poets.

The poems are timeless, and I am so grateful we were able to complete this book. Because of all that life has held since then, and new times now, I reread the poems and discover new meaning. And I am grateful.

Quiet Christmas Poetry, our large print chapbook, may also be ordered from the Time Of Singing books page. You can combine orders of both books, for the special price of 3 copies for 12 dollars. I know sometimes people also like to buy a book, and set it aside for a gift some day.

I have started a few new poetry chapbooks on my blogs, and have some drafts in my computer files. For now, I am letting these projects rest, and sharing what I have already been able to achieve. And posting my new “journal poems” here often.

Quiet Christmas Poetry began as a blog. Then Karl created the print book in 2014 from the site – all the content was there. The book was then printed by GT Graphics in Sheboygan, Wisconsin. Many ways to create.

GARDEN TEA PARTY

Listen to the leaves
of robin song
spill into the rain:

parched dreams expanding
and staining the
long afternoon with

poignant fragrances:
blending past and
hope with vibrant joy.

Creative Notes: Pages

It is interesting to look at the stats, and see posts and pages from the past that are being read now.

These are two examples of Pages, which are filed under MENU in the upper right hand corner of this blog.

I was honored that Sandra requested permission to reprint content I wrote for The Haiku Foundation.

And let the beauty of the Lord our God be upon us:
and establish thou the work of our hands upon us;
yea, the work of our hands establish thou it.

Psalm 90: 17 (KJV)
