We walked on the cordwalk, which serves to protect the natural areas.

Karl walked to a view of Lake Michigan.  We also visited a beach area – many people and the water is high here too.  We hope to return another day, and take photos of the narrow beach.

Poems from my archives:

SOON THE VIEW

soon the view
will change . . .
new leaves

keeping a few
winter things around
for their beauty
and days of cold winds

warmer weather
yet winter coats
still by the door

*

years on the roads
pass through my mind
returning home
and in the yard
first tulip leaves

*

the same poems
for the rest of my life
stars and tree branches
another sunrise
