evergreen stillness
deep roots and stable
Winter soon

day begins
Day begins and now the light is bright where I often write. I hear Lake Michigan, no other sounds at the moment.
in some ways
the view does not change
evergreens
sun stillness
sun stillness
old and new growth
evergreens
early June morning
early June morning
pelicans fly over the water
a deer walks through the yard
new carnations
in an old glass vase
by the window
poinsettia and lily plants
placed by the back patio door
only yesterday
and still in the house
new green
on evergreen branches
an image loved for years
the small new growth
and lilacs bloom

poems and photo
There is a lightness to the wind today. The evergreens picture joy.
birch tree branches
are simply themselves
no snow
frozen raindrops
from Sunday gone
soon the beginnings
of new green leaves
Poem from my archives:
in the backyard
birds back
and singing
never too old
to find this new

every day a gift . . .
I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills,
from whence cometh my help.
My help cometh from the Lord,
which made heaven and earth.
