To everything there is a season,

SEASON is one of the poems from Quiet Christmas Poetry, which is both a site and a large print chapbook.

It is interesting, as we create a second large print book, the same poems seem to go well with a blog post, an email, and/or reflections in general. There is no hurry with this project. I am beginning to memorize the poems for the book. Then I will know the sequence. I like to be able to think about the work as I work in the kitchen, for example, and soon – the yard.

poems we read
again and again
washing an old plate
the pattern
still new

roses in the sun
some ending
some beginning
and some in full bloom
good to grow older

clouds and yet
enough light
to fill a jam jar
with the last
of the carnations

different shapes
of the rose bush
and lilacs in the yard
they grew towards
the light

knowing
they cannot stay
but will return
lilacs

Our first large print chapbook is Quiet Christmas Poetry.

SEASON and the Bible verse from Ecclesiastes are from our large print book, Quiet Christmas Poetry.

Christmas Poems

almost Christmas
through the evergreens
clear blue sky

reading one page
at a time
of this book and that
evergreens
in gentle wind

holiness
and humility
Christmas

And the Word
was made flesh,
and dwelt among us . . .
full of grace
and truth.

From John 1:14 (KJV)

My poems and the Bible verse are from Quiet Christmas Poetry, which is both a site and a large print chapbook.

For this post, I played with the new Gutenberg editor. I like the new editor.

Karl took the photo of the winter Lake Michigan beach, which became the cover art for our Christmas book.

GT Graphics in Sheboygan, Wisconsin printed Quiet Christmas Poetry.

Copies can be ordered from the books page at Time Of Singing. All proceeds benefit this poetry journal.
