Garden Notes: Birds

We began here several years ago, and now the blog is a record of our seasons, which continues now. I thought I would look back and review some posts.

A few petunias
snapdragons, gold and white mums
the robins are gone.

Holding in my heart
as days become cold and dark
robins will return.

PEGASUS 1994 (print journal) and reprinted in a post September 22, 2018.

On Monday, we saw and heard red-winged blackbirds in Oostburg, Wisconsin. March 10, 2021

I heard, but did not see, an owl the other night.
Yesterday, I saw robins.

Grateful for our yard, some warmth

New green plants and the daylilies will bloom in summer.

Thought I would try and begin again with the camera. See what photos are given as I simply observe in the yard. Haiku photos.

Lake Michigan Notes

Rain and grey today. The lake levels of Lake Michigan remain high. We have seen a lot of variability over the years.

These photos by Karl show the beach in March 2010.

Creative Notes: Flowers and Time

that will bloom
here too
in time

During the years I drove to Milwaukee to help with my mother’s care, I saw many flowers bloom there, and later here. The drive back and forth was interesting and beautiful.

I am grateful I can observe in so many ways . . .

and I am then more sure as I write about what I see. Nice to be able to look back at posts and remember dates, from year to year.

And here, we will see flowers in town and other nearby places, before by Lake Michigan. Spring takes time, and then stays for a time.

And always the light to observe.
