For the first time in many years, it has been cold enough for a thin sheet of ice to form on Lake Michigan. Interesting to observe the geese on the ice. Karl took this photo on March 8, 2019. You can also see the ash tree that fell. We will do something creative with the wood and stump.
Cold today, and Karl took these photos. He explained to me the other day, that because the water is warmer than the air now, steam rises from the lake. So with our high water levels this year, the evaporation helps lower the water levels. We have rip-rap (new word for me – large rocks) that protects our property.
