three short poems

These are poems from the archives to follow Gardens, Time, Lessons.

tree branches
bowed to the ground
seemingly half-broken
covered with new leaves
my notebook of prayers

different shapes
of the rose bush
and lilacs in the yard
they grew towards
the light

beginning
in the area
where we had
to take a tree down
new peony leaves

more beautiful books
on my desk
than I can read

thoughts of my mother
and our shared love of language

some spaces only God can fill

language and books
and all the conversations
among artists who
may not know
one another

fill my heart too

and Spring today

from my April archives:

where we had
to take a tree down
new peony leaves

I set some new goals early this past summer, growing through some new challenges.  Now it is late November, and I am reaching a few of my new goals.  Daily dedication, and content with small steps.  Grateful for good care.

My file for 2018 photos is smaller than other years, and the flowers are just as beautiful.  These are peonies.

Photo Galleries

This gallery includes new photos by Karl and some of his photos from our visits to community paths.  I also added a few of my photos of the peonies.  Karl took the photos for the blog when we began in December 2009.  I began with photography in 2015.  These photos are all from this year, though I enjoy creating new posts from the best (or most interesting ) in our archives (poems and photos).

Playing with gallery arrangements, I see how the colors of milkweed plants from the path and peonies from the yard work together.

And the many forms of beauty . . . hope to visit the same places through the seasons.
