hosta flowers
begin to end
yet knowing
their leaves
will turn gold

so beautiful

today gold leaves

today gold leaves
fall one at a time
by the window

the calendar picture
also shows the colors
of October here

yet I will also
welcome November
and the changes then

the birch trees
in the landscape
and evergreens

leaves that fall now
will stay in the gardens
and new plants
will grow in spring

the seasons are in my heart
