February morning
poetry and music
small study sun
today
one person sees a photo
another a poem
or a story about the gardens
seasons stored in the heart
for Winter
And so my soul
Spills over
Into print again
As the sun spills
Over flowers
And the neighborhood
Sleeps
Endurance is eloquent
And marigolds are
Admirable because
They bloom
So long
Oh, my heart
Is tender
Yet God keeps it
Strong
And so my soul
Spills over
Into print again

sunrise
seagulls and clouds
fill the sky
mid-day
December sun
from the south
shines on
a Psalm
short days
stars brighten
Winter sky
