Bloganuary prompt for January 23, 2022

Interview a fictional character.

I wrote about Jan Karon on January 14, 2022. This is from my post:

Karl and I went to Menards in Sheboygan yesterday. I love seeing books for sale at different places, and was happy to see Jan Karon among the many authors. Her novels are wonderful.

Jan Karon’s book, Bathed In Prayer: Father Tim’s Prayers, Sermons, and Reflections from the Mitford Series is a book I plan to read a little today (Author Copyright 2018; G.P. Putnam’s Sons, New York).

And this morning, instead of an interview, I would like to say THANK YOU to Jan Karon and her characters. In Bathed In Prayer, she wrote: “It gives me true joy to open my heart to the One Who loved us first and pour out to you whatever is given. It is a very great mystery, this business of making up stories and telling them around the campfire of a book.” Jan Karon has this quote in bold print on page 9 of Bathed In Prayer.

Creative Notes

I looked at my emails and received a message today from the
Aurora Health Care Foundation. I learned that Nurses Week is May 6 – May 12. We are grateful to help in our area. Grateful for care.

Another message was from Luther Manor in Wauwatosa, Wisconsin. People we know have served and been cared for well there. The message today was about donations, so they can buy more iPADS to make Virtual Visits possible.

On April 28, 2020, I shared this Bible verse at Easter And Spring Poetry:

. . . whatsoever things are true,
whatsoever things are honest,
whatsoever things are just,
whatsoever things are pure,
whatsoever things are lovely,
whatsoever things are of good report;
if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise,
think on these things.

Philippians 4: 8 (KJV)

after the storm

after the storm
blue sky and sun
on evergreens
covered with snow

I pray a few verses
from the Psalms
after the storm
and always

Thy statutes have been my songs
in the house of my pilgrimage.

Psalm 119: 54 (KJV)
