September begins
with apple trees
overflowing to the ground
and the music of wind

on a short errand
goldenrod in bloom
near Bossler’s
Christmas Tree Farm

oh I am in no hurry
one day at a time
works best for me now

still the image stays in my mind . . .

September Poems

Autumn afternoon
the early glow
of streetlights in town

September 25, 2010

late September
and time with old friends
afternoon sun
shines on leaves
turning gold

September 26, 2011

golden sun
on gold leaves
unconditional love

seagulls
down the beach
silver in the sky

September 24, 2012

now the light
falls in a new way
in the house
shadows of leaves
on a page of poetry

September 28, 2013

rain through fog
a few gold leaves
on the birch tree
shine brighter

September 10, 2014

September leaves
in Sunday sun
prayers of love
and peace
for those in need
