November roads

November roads
and quiet beauty
yellow lilies
from a store
this time

Karl and I went to Festival Foods and Walmart in Sheboygan today. We bought a wreath for the cedar tree at Festival Foods and lilies at Walmart.

Short Poems for June

thunder
who is the bird
still singing?

Time of Singing – Summer 2006

new leaves
on the birch tree
and on the branch
with no leaves
a robin

gifts of beauty
and simplicity
wildflowers

quiet morning
I measure time
in quiet songs

morning music
bird songs more present
than sounds from the highway

everything must be
perfect for them this year
irises everywhere

summer sun
thrift store bowl painted
with leaves and fruit

short poems

losses in life
low setting sun
through branches of trees
now rises again
as birds quietly sing

new day
in my older life
sun on evergreens

new day begins
ribbon bookmarks
from beloved books
rest on the wood shelf

reminding me
to love each day
one gold leaf
on the birch tree

autumn leaves
the caregiver finds time
to rest

“autumn leaves” was the Daily Haiku for August 14, 2019.
