grateful prayers
for calm weather
and the sun,
power for the house
and breakfast,
this day
today the sun shines

and I think about
art on the walls
and arrangements
how shapes and colors
work together
and also spaces
with nothing more
like a new journal
or blog post
a page of paper
what may yet
be created?

as I listen to old hymns
my heart gathers peace
for this day
how small the song
of an unknown bird
quiet memories
