I take a break
from the news
and all the stories
that matter so much
and am blessed
by the sight
of tomatoes
in an old bowl
kitchen counter sun

sometimes I think
a room will feel warmer
with the blinds closed
yet how wonderful
to raise them
and let the sun shine
into a room
see the frost paintings
the shapes of tree branches
track the light
through the seasons

sun rests
on a small plant
then an empty
wood chair
I read
library books
one page
at a time
Ellen Grace Olinger
reading poetry
in my small study
as so often
and always
sun begins to shine
on the walls
and the lamp
no longer needed
how wonderful
to be able to read
and so many good
books to read
Good to see books by friends mentioned on their sites. Blessings for all, and all the ways we create.
