sunrise

sunrise . . .
fresh water today
for the carnations

May 20, 2017

Poems from my archives:

pink clouds
span the horizon
seagulls take flight
stretching to read
new books

*

clouds and yet
enough light
to fill a jam jar
with the last
of the carnations

*

morning prayer
water birds flying north
stay close to water

sunrise

The sky is pale pink and light blue.  Lake Michigan is calm.  Snowdrops bloom in the yard.  A few small areas, and they are so welcome and faithful, these many years.

Soon there will be leaves on the trees.  The view will change.  Always beautiful.

Photo Challenge: New Horizon

Every day is a new horizon, and I always enjoy the beginning of a new year.  Each day and month have a special beauty.

Leaf on Karl’s kayak – photo by Ellen

I enjoyed discovering the natural arrangements of leaves on the blue tarp covering Karl’s trailer.  There are always new creative horizons as we live each day and pay attention.

The paperwhites inspired many photos.  I learned a little about how to edit photos this year.
