Bloganuary prompt for January 21, 2022

If you could, what year would you time travel to and why?

An interesting question – and I am happy here, and grateful for this day.

“He hath made every thing beautiful in his time…”

From Ecclesiastes 3:11a (KJV)

This Bible verse is the overall theme for my Gravatar and Websites. I enjoy trying different blog themes, and I reprint poems in different ways. And I also reblog posts. Grateful for all the ways to create and share.

Yesterday, I began reviewing our Easter and Spring Poetry site. This year, I decided to reprint poems that readers seem to especially like in large bold print, with different images. As I work, I often write new poems.

three poems

more colors of blue
in Lake Michigan today
than I can name
the wonder of always learning
dreaming new dreams

September
on the horizon
all the goals
I can still
try to reach

Also true that I have revised my goals. Given everything lots of new patience, love, and time. Health first.

Poems and photos are from my archives. I love the grey days as well.

And a new poem:

growing well
the small plant we bought
after my hospital visit in 2018

Take good care.

Today will be a big mail day. Mail could only be delivered one day this week, which we surely understand. The acrostic is from my archives.

Winter Morning

The sky is completely grey, and lovely in a quiet way. Snow covers the yard, various branches, and safety railings along the wood and brick paths. I read a few pages, and keep looking outside. So will try and write a page – a post – about what I see.

There are large shapes of ice in Lake Michigan. What a contrast from warm summer days. I keep small blankets – some handmade from thrift stores – nearby.

as if they could
store the sun
small blankets
on a chair
add color to
the scene
as they await
to warm
another time

July 2014

Time – today is another year since my mother’s passing in 2004. At peace.

For a thousand years in thy sight
are but as yesterday
when it is past,
and as a watch in the night.

for a time

reading poetry
from books and journals
recently in the mail
and also on my shelves
for a time

and for a different
sense of time
