we found our way
to unconditional love

on cedar garage

through the night

ferns as tall
as the garden chair

mid-July
daylilies and hosta
tell the time

some water
for the chrysanthemum

colors of books go well
with art on the walls

and November in sight
frost on the ground

a prayer from childhood
still with me
