Happy New Year

I looked at my “Stats for 2019.” After “Home page/Archives” my acrostics for Reading, Library, and Rain are the most read poems.

We are grateful for all the readers, from so many countries, who visit the blog. Thank you and blessings for the New Year and always.

WordPress Foundation

I am learning more about the WordPress Foundation – “Supporting the WordPress community since 2010.” Matt Mullenweg is the founder and director.

Karl helped me begin Poems From Oostburg, Wisconsin in December 2009. This way of being creative works well for me. I am grateful, and trust that our work is cared for well here.

I was happy to receive A Moment’s Longing, Haiku Society of America Members’ Anthology 2019. Tanya McDonald served as our Editor this year. The book is beautiful. Please visit the Haiku Society of America for more information.

My poem in the book:

one red tulip
blooms in the hosta border
time alone with God

Poems and Photos: January – June 2019

sometimes I think
a room will feel warmer
with the blinds closed

yet how wonderful
to raise them
and let the sun shine
into a room

see the frost paintings
the shapes of tree branches
track the light
through the seasons

On this day we went to the Good As New Resale Shop in Cedar Grove, and then walked on a new-for-me part of the Sheboygan Interurban Trail.

We love the family restaurants in our area. I look forward to how each place decorates for the seasons. The specials and especially the homemade soups.

July 2014

This summer I am rereading books by Luci Shaw, along with a few poetry journals. Here and there I look at memoirs from thrift stores.

Always the Psalms – a place of stability and hope for me. So much room for growth. Sometimes good to read something new, and sometimes good to reread.
